Why Chandrababu Naidu is hell bent on getting arrested?
After suffering the most humiliating defeat in his 40 year political career, Chandrababu Naidu seems to be on an overdrive to revive his dwindling prospects in Politics. Lately he is criticizing the AP ruling govt almost on a daily basis. He gave a call to go out on a rally to the Palnadu region which is the hotbed of faction fights. Naidu alleges that his party workers are being attacked after YSRCP govt came into power. To get more traction to his allegation TDP party planned for a coordinated rally from several districts to the Palnadu region. Sensing law and order situation, Police imposed 144 section at several areas including near CBN house.
As an Ex-CM, CBN very well knows that if he disobeys police orders, he would be arrested. Naidu with his workers started from home and was immediately taken into custody and was put under House arrest. All the pro-TDP channels including some national channels reported his old tune of “Murder of Democracy”.
CBN very well knows that this act would not gain any sympathy for him in AP. So why does he wants to get nationwide publicity of his arrest today?
In the months leading to Chidambaram arrest, the Ex Home and Finance Minister of India became very vocal about India’s economy. Chidambaram consistently tweeted against Indian economy. On his way to Tihar jail, he even said he is only concerned about India’s economy and nothing else. His supporters and Son Karti claimed that Chidambaram was arrested because of his criticism on India’s economy.
Coming to CBN, being in politics for 40 years, Naidu sure has the connections at Central Bureaucratic quarters. CBN must have been made aware that CBI and ED may be closing on him in numerous corruption scandals he is involved in the past 5 years. He now needs to show a reason other than corruption cases when he follows Chidambaram to Tihar Jail.
What can be a better reason than fighting for his supporters safety and in the process going to Tihar jail? Would the public of India buy his story or will they ignore it just like they did for Chidambaram? Only time can answer!
