TDP to close shop — Is NTR soul taking revenge on CBN?

NTR had to go through most humiliating period of his lifetime during the final 5 months of his life. He was thrown away from the party he founded! His party’s election symbol — cycle — was grabbed from him. He was hit by chappals during Viceroy incident. His bank account was frozen. Someone who is used to constant praises for 50 years had to succumb to the humiliation he went through for 5 continuous months!

History seems to be repeating itself and CBN is now staring at apparent humiliating episodes for himself. Yesterday 4 Rajya Sabha MPs gave representation that they should be considered as “Rajya Sabha TDP” Party and urged chairman that their party be merged into BJP.

Today, Chairman Venkayya Naidu accepted the merger. Official reports indicate anti-defection law would not apply here. If 2/3 rd of law makers would want to join another party after election they wouldn’t be considered as defectors. TDP had 6 MPs in Rajya Sabha out of which 4 MPs (i.e 2/3rd) wanted to join BJP.

Now bigger challenge awaits Naidu! Ganta Srinivas Rao who is known to shift parties at the drop of a hat is now stationed in Colombo with 15 MLAs trying to pull out a coup against CBN. TDP currently has 23 Mlas and if 2/3rd of them which is 15 Mlas want to migrate to BJP, they can do so without attracting Anti-defection law against them.

Current TDP leadership mostly consists of business men and influential people unlike the one under NTR where it used to be dominated by people who were real contributors to growth of party. TDP lost its soul in recent times and cadre are no longer emotionally connected to the party’s ideology.

CBN over estimated his caliber and went out all against BJP. He funded enormous amount of money to damage BJP in Karnataka. He made an open challenge in Delhi that he will finish off BJP as a party in 2019 elections. The malicious media campaign he ran against BJP in AP left BJP with only 1% vote share.

Naidu came to power in 1999 with Vajpayee help. Later he ditched Vajpayee in 2004 (BJP got 18% vote share in AP 1999 elections). He again came to power in 2014 with Modi’s help and again backstabbed BJP for 2019 elections. He abused Modi in most unparliamentary language including calling him a “hardcore terrorist” at Kakinada sabha.

BJP top brass is now vying to give a fitting slap to Naidu for all his misadventures against BJP.

RGV who is long forgotten as a Director got a new lease of life with his movie on NTR. Now, looking at the way leaders are ditching Naidu in exactly the same way he had them ditch NTR in Aug 1995, it sure seems to have divine intervention. If things go by how it looks as of today, CBN life story can be taught as a Karma lesson to next generation kids!
