AP Praja Vedika demolition — Contrasting response from Pawan Kalyan and Lok Satta JP!
Today YSRCP govt announced that it will demolish AP govt building Praja Vedika that was built on the banks of Krishna river by TDP govt less than 5 years ago.
Reasons cited were that it was an illegal construction and possible threat to residents in the building should there be a flood situation.
Tdp as expected strongly condemned this decision. However there were two unexpected and contrasting statements from 2 other leaders.
Pawan Kalyan said he is not against the demolition if it’s illegal construction and an environmental hazard, but govt should apply same rule to other buildings as well and not be biased. This is a welcome statement from him especially after losing election to Jagan only a month ago.
In contrast Lok Satta JP made a weird statement. He asked if India would demolish Parliament and Rashtrapati Bhavan just because they were built by British! Firstly it is irrational to compare the current building with that of Parliament. TDP govt itself claimed that most of the building are “temporary buildings”. Secondly he choose to not dwelve into the fact about the building’s legality.
It’s quite amusing to see JP talking like an opposition leader and Pawan Kalyan taking more like an educated and informed politician!
