AP Amaravati land scam case to be transferred to Telangana High Court?
In a sudden development, AP CM Y S Jagan flew to Delhi to meet Home Minister Amit Shah. Media started speculating about this sudden meeting. The meeting even got extended to the following day.
There is a strong rumor that AP CM went to report against the hold order on Amaravati land scam. Reportedly CM Jagan conveyed to Amit Shah that, since AP ACB FIR has judge and their kins names, arguing the case in AP High Court would be conflict of interest. So AP CM requested the case to be transferred to another state’s high court!
This would not be the first time a case may be transferred to another state’s high court. Previously in Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha case, it was argued that she can influence witnesses and officials and so the case was transferred to Karnataka High Court. Later she and her friend were convicted and her friend Sashikala was sent to Bangalore jail as Jayalalitha already passed away by then.
Currently AP state govt is maintaining a good relationship with center. Ycp party has supported recent farm bills of BJP by extending support of all their 22 MPs. Going by latest trend, center may as well consider the conflict of interest clause and transfer the case to Telangana High Court.
If that happens, it can spell a death blow to Chandrababu Naidu’s political career as he has already completely burnt bridges with both KCR and Modi.
Next few weeks will be crucial for AP 3 capital and Amaravati land scam cases!
